Featuring Dr. Annie Evans, Ph.D

Metabolon has developed a comprehensive, robust, and unbiased metabolomics technology to identify and quantify both endogenous and exogenous metabolites in a biological sample to advance life science research and biomarker discovery.

One of the challenges of metabolomics is that a single sample analyzed using a mass spectrometer often produces tens of thousands of data points, but the actual number of metabolites in the same sample is typically only a few thousand. This means the majority of data points are actually extraneous (the result of instrument noise, process artifacts and redundant ion features). Sifting through those data points to identify relevant metabolites is a laborious, time-consuming process, fraught with the potential for “false positives”.

In this webinar, Dr. Annie Evans explains Metabolon's “chemocentric approach", which rapidly and efficiently removes noise and identifies metabolites. This technology automatically compares the generated data against an extensive chemical library to isolate relevant metabolites in a matter of minutes. The result is accurate, reproducible and actionable data ready for statistical analysis.
